This was a pretty fun movie when I was a kid. That's due to the amount of care and precision that went into the making of Madeline. The trial was much publicised in the newspapers of the day and labelled "the trial of the century". It's not some dumb slapstick kids movie that everyone in the 90's was making. In fact, her bravery and the scar she has to show for it prove to be inspiring - albeit naively - to the other girls attending the same boarding school, as they find themselves wanting a similar scar by the end of the book.
